The Types Of Roller Coasters

INVERTED ROLLER COASTERS

An inverted roller coaster is a coaster in which the seats are connected to the wheel carriage allwoing the riders legs to dangle. In some cases riders also lay down, giving them the sensation that they're flying. Roller coasters in which the rider is laying down include the superman. This latter attribute is what sets it apart from the older suspended coaster, which runs under the track, but swings via a pivoting bar attached to the wheel carriage. Inverted coasters are notable for their reversed orientation (the sensation that they're flying) compared to a traditional roller coaster, where riders are just sitting. Roller coasters, and in particular inverted roller coasters, are driven almost completely by gravitational forces.  The only thing different from a classic coaster to a inverted coaster is that your feet are dangling or you are standing up, like the Mantis at Cedar Point.
